DJ Q is a certified tastemaker, respected radio executive, and one of the most influential voices in Southern Hip-Hop culture. From skating rinks and underground clubs to live broadcasts and boardroom meetings, DJ Q has built a legacy rooted in passion, consistency, and a deep connection with the streets of Memphis.
His story began at Treadwell High School, where a senior-year internship at HOT 107.1 FM sparked a love for broadcasting. After a college football injury derailed his athletic plans, Q returned home and rediscovered his purpose through music. He started spinning at SkateLand Raleigh, then linked with North Starr Ent under the mentorship of DJ Killa Cam and DJ Kenny Kaign, forming a powerhouse team alongside hype man Bware.
DJ Q’s sound and hustle quickly caught the attention of Memphis legend Freddy Hydro and the Ripp Squad DJs, who introduced him to the Arkansas club circuit. At Club Unity in West Memphis, Q made his mark—helping turn it into one of the hottest after-hours venues in the region at one of the hottest clubs in the city, Club Visions. His name soon rang out across the city, leading to gigs at elite venues like Plush Club and Martini Room.
He returned to HOT 107.1 as a member of the street team but quickly rose through the ranks—hosting mix shows, commanding weekend airwaves, and earning DJ of the Year honors in 2011 and 2012. By 2011, he was given the station’s prime-time night slot, where he launched Chose Gang Radio, a breakout mixtape series spotlighting Memphis’s rising stars.
Today, DJ Q stands at the forefront of Memphis radio and culture. In 2019, he was named Program Director of HOT 107.1, and in October 2023, he made history as one of the youngest General Managers in the station’s legacy.

DJ Q’s brand affiliations include Core DJs, Maybach Music Group, The Southern Coalition Movement, and he is one of the co-founders of one of the most respected promo teams in the South—Chose Gang. Whether he’s rocking crowds, elevating artists, or building strategy behind the scenes, DJ Q remains the voice of the streets and the heartbeat of Memphis.
